Hi, i'm Ivy! I am a new graduate from Nanyang Polytechnic, holding a Diploma. I studied Visual Communication for 3 years where i learn how to design packaging, photoshop, illustrate and advertise. I know a lot of basic designing. Most importantly, i'm hearing impaired! I have only 4 senses but with my hearing disability, i still can speak and hear with a hearing aid! I know i'm not good as others but all i know is that my ideas can be different from others! I believe God who made me a Hearing Impaired was something to my future. :D



My little background about myself



When i was secondary 3, i was motivated to draw. I did few cards of names of my dear friends, soon after my classmates around me start to love my drawings, and thats' where i thought i found my passion. I started selling them in a very cheap affordable price. I record my orders and it was like over 60 orders.But drawings only could motivate me to move on. I keep drawing until there was a camp corri t-shirt design competition for my Sec 4 Camp Corri. It was unbelievable that my design got accepted and received a small prize. That's when my dear friends encourage me and told me i have this gift that God gives me. And went on participating. I wasnt really confident of myself because i knew that there's a lot of talented people out there who are much better than me. Besides, i'm Deaf with unpredictable future.



Soon after, i received my O'Level results. It was okay for me but the points are not enough to enter the art-related courses i want. I was sad. However, i was shocked that there is a system where school take in students who are talented regardless of their results. I quickly got in, and took a interview. And in 3 weeks later, i got into the course i want!! ^^



So now i guess i have found my passion, thus working really hard toward that goal! On the other hand, i know that with my hearing disability, i will face a lot of problems such as discriminations, difficulties communicating with collegues, and so on. But life has to go on, so i need to face them to become a stronger person!
